just got my RMR downpipe in, looks beautiful compared to the stock DP, question was, im running a 3in HKS Carbon Ti catback with 3in cat delete, if i add the DP will it make my exhaust louder? not sure if i want it louder than it already is. how much of a whp/tq increase will i see after installing the dp with and without tune (plan to dynoflash) thanks!

 

well over stock big difference. and yes it will be louder.. low end may not be quite the same but mid-high end power will be much improved..

 

so i LOSE low end power with a 3in downpipe? that sucks... but yea i prefer the mid-high end power over low end anyday. i think i remmeber hearing that 2.75in exhaust give u better low end but the 3in gives u better topend

 

you wont even notice you lost it.. trust me.. listening to that sound you wont care and it would be real low end..

 

yeah theres less backpressure. so low end (on big turbos is gone) but the stock is still there..

 

Once you hit pass 3K... you won't notice any lag but there will be a big *** smile on your face.

 

hmm yea i've read about the 3in vs 2.75in dp a while back. My car is going into Mitsu from tomorrow til Friday so 4 days without an Evo and i gotta wait until next mon-tues to actually install my downpipe and find some washers so it clears the tie bar and im thinking of waiting to get some header wrap. is the header wrap really worth it? this also increases spool up if im not mistaken right even tho im already running a 3in catback with cat del

 

It will be iritatingly loud in 5th gear droning at around 2300rpm. I usually juat leave it in 4th about 3600rpm. Not as loud but uses more gas.

 

3600rpm cruise in 4th? that sucks, i'd rather hear the droning, i got used to this loud car

i did the full tbe with dp and catdel all at once so I dont know how much just a dp will add or sound, but mine is pretty damn loud at wot.

 

No not really. I like my exhaust the way it is and I wouldn't change it untill I really "need" to.

 

A full 3"tbe with just a SAFC2 will net you 50hp.. so how can you say it doenst
