Mitsubishi is growing?
This was taken from Mitsubishi's website. I thought they were not doing so well?
WHO WE ARE
Mitsubishi Motors is the fastest growing Japanese automaker in North America. Why? An agile, streamlined organization. Dedicated employees. A standout brand. All-new markets. And some pretty hot products.
Our official name is Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., (MMNA) and we're responsible for manufacturing, finance, distribution and marketing of Mitsubishi brand coupes, convertibles, sedans and sport utility vehicles through a network of nearly 700 dealers in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
A big job? You bet. And getting bigger every day.
We sold 345,111 new vehicles in the United States in 2002. It was our best year ever - for the fourth consecutive time. In fact, our sales have grown 81% percent over the past four years.

yes they are doing well, some people saw that the fuso side of corprate mitsu was have some legal probs, so the classified it as the whole of mitsu was going under and backing out of america, wrong! all mitsu did was to restructe their sales so they retail more new cars instead of wholesaleing to rental companies, which means more profit, which means growth. some people are ignorant when it comes to manufacturer gossip, they take everything they hear and read as fact. stupid people, big business are for smart people
they probably only need to sell all of the 05 Evos to double the number of cars they sold last year!
fastest growing doesn't mean much if you don't know how many they sold before. and i'm sure their market share has got to be damn low.

Sigh...
1. That description is like three years old. Mitsu no longer sales anywhere near that many cars a year.
2. Fuso was spun off, so the number of trucks they sell is no longer counted in with Mitsu sales. DCX owns the majority of Mitsubishi-Fuso.
3. Sebring and Stratus coupes used to be made in Normal on Eclipse chassis, but they were discontinued. There are no longer any Chrysler vehicles produced at Normal and Mitsubishi completely owns the plant. It is currently operating at like 33% capacity with one shift building Galants, Endeavors and Eclipses. The term DSM is a defunct because the joint venture no longer exists, but it is still used as an internal code for cars coming from that plant.
And they lived happily ever after. The End.
