I was driving to work today and this Cop pulled me over, said I was doing 63 in a 35 this lady seemed to be in a bad mood. So she decided to check my window tints and the fronts were legal and the rear windows were 20's which she said was illegal which sucked. so anyways this cop gave me a ticked for 280 dollars and I am pissed because I didn't deserve it I was doing 40 in a 35 but she figured because im 18 and I have a huge wing on my car I was doing 63....now tell me that isn't fair. well anyways she checked off that she estimated I was doing 63 she didn't check radar...you think I can beat this one?

 

hell yes. she has no evidence at all. take that to court for sure man.

 

maybe..don't they have to take a test and be approved to be able to give tickets out for estimating speed? I say fight it anyways..

 

Man, that sux......anyways, u should definitely argue it out in court. She needs conclusive evidence that u were speeding, and since she didn't look at her radar, than its BS. Good luck bro!

 

wht did the ticket say. Radar, clocked , estimated.... if it was clocked and estimated good luck.. that stands up in court more than radar does... trust me... i mean i had my 108(really 145) in a 50 dismissed( know the right people)( 290 @ 1am through the middle of worc) , but when i talked to my lawyer he said clocked is harder to get rid of, because that means they were following you for a while and over a 1/4 mile your speed didnt vary more than 5mph. They basically time you between point A and point B and figure out how long it should take you at the speed limit .. they also tail you and look at there speed and say he was going this cause i was...

ticket couldnt have been for tint cause tint is 250 per window..Dads got 32 years on the force so i asked him back in the day..

 

$250/window? That's absurd. I've never seen a ticket like that. When I got pulled over, it was $125 TOTAL only if I refused to take it off. So...I took it off.

 

it all depends on the county and who you got rolled by. I had a tint ticket and it was 180.. or just pull it off pretty much.

As far as the ticket.. just go to court no matter what and say they didnt have a radar gun to show you... ALWAY ASK TO SEE THE RADAR if you get rolled for it. I just got out of a ticket the other day because it was "estimated speed". He knew he had nothing so he complained and yelled at me.. then sent me on my way I was 2 tickets from habitual traffic offender.. so take it from me.. go to court and plead your case..

Make sure it doesnt say clocked.. Radar isnt all that accurate.. thats why if they do get you they say clocked and your screwed

 

If you goto court for a clerck hearing Bring your lawyer and wear a suit.. trust me they look at that stuff.. My ex's father was a clerk magistrate.. you could get it taken car of .. if its your first ticket.. it wont count on ins... firstones are freebees

 

If you go to court, tell them you were doing 35 not 40. Otherwise you will lose for speeding. If she estimated your speed visually, bring a tennis ball, and a speed gun with you to court, tell her if she can estimate your car speed she should have not problem estimating the speed of the ball. Then see how she reacts.
