Question What do you consider a flaw in your Evo?

Obviously this is a great car, possibly the best all around sports compact car ever built. What I'm curious to know as a future owner is, what do you consider to be flaws in this car? Whether it be performance, reliability, styling, aftermarket pricing, warranty, insurance and anything else you might not like. I know this isn't the typical question but I figure that knowing the bad as well as the good is not a bad thing. Gives me a better idea of what I'm purchasing. Thanks to anyone who responds.

For me, the only negative is the lack of cruise control. That's really annoying on the highway...not just because my foot/ankle get tired, but because it's WAY TOO EASY to accidentally speed up too much. The distance between the 5mph tick marks is so tiny and the car is so powerful that I find myself going above my own personal speed limit all the time (instead of 9 over the limit, I'll be 12-13 over). It hasn't caused me any problems yet, but cruise control would sure be nice.

Everything else is dreamy.

LOL what warranty? Only problem that gets to me is the many noises a stiff suspension can do to the car......thats why the radios always sooo loud.

To counter these comments, I plan to make full use of my 5year/60k-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. It's an excellent warranty, as long as it gets honored. I don't plan on doing anything to void it.

I also don't have any annoying noises caused by the suspension. This may be due to the Bilsteins, though.

I thought you don't plan on doing anything to void your warranty.

Haven't been her long enough to know Mitsubishi is watching?

The only flaw i see that has anything to do with the car is crappy mechanics at the dealership. Don't get me wrong there are some good ones but there are also some really sh*tty ones. Make sure u find a good dealership with good evo mechanics if u want to enjoy ur warranty.

Nothing to the car itself. If I get screwed over for a few test runs, then so be it, but that isn't likely. The few mods I've done and will do will all be removable except the cat-back, which was approved before I signed the papers. If I break something as a direct result of my activities, then I don't expect warranty coverage.

Cruise control and the clutch. I hate the bogging on a launch, but its the best car I have ever owned.

Mikebuzzsaw, I read the small gas tank thing in Sports Compact Car haha that was a pretty funny article. Sparked my interest in the car though so it's all gravy.

I agree that the clutch is very weak, but that's not why you are bogging. When you bog, it's when your tires don't spin AND your clutch catches completely but at low rpm (due to releasing the clutch at a too low RPM). The problem with our clutch is that it slips when trying to engage it at high rpm from a stop instead of catching and launching hard, but since a 1.7x 60' is possible, then I guess it's not all that bad.

Trust me, I have a cruise control. On a turbo car, it's not really a good thing to have, unless it's electornically controlled/variable adjustable cruise control.

I don't like the tail lights. they're so freaking ugly.

that and anytime you turn the ac on you're sucking a ss.

What else would the cruise control be if not electronic and variable/adjustable? All 3 of my DSMs were turbo, had cruise control, and worked like a charm. All 3 just happened to be faster than my MR, too (for now). Funny how my 1990 Talon had it, but not my 2005 Evo...I assume it was left out for "race-inspired" reasons, though.

The damn ever present drivetrain noise quirks are occasionally annoying. Such as the occasional resonance of the drive shaft or the once in a while rear end noise.
