Not tp be a pain, just to make sure I do this right. You just added the mystery oil to the exisiting oil (1 quart) and then changed it out after 2 thousand miles and a severe beating?? Lol.

very informative post. i bought my evo new in december so i have a while till i get to 75k but i will be saving this post for future reference.

Great Info. All of which I found to be true myself. I am glad that you included the fact that you got 70K out of the stock clutch. It just goes to show that the clutch is not the problem. The problem is the drivers who abuse them.

Very nice and very true. I was lol reading the part about the interior bulbs because I am there right now with my evo. I have 43,000 miles.

Sounds good!
No, put mystery oil in, serve a beating, cool down car, turn car off, wait till engine gets cold, start car up, listen for anymore tap, if there is tap the repeat process.

"Marvel Mystery Oil" can be purchased at just about any auto parts and WalMart.
it is a very light oil that also is a mild solvent. you can add it to your crankcase oil to help remove varnish and sludge buildup (sludge doesn't happen really when using synthetic oil), or you can add it to your gasoline to help lubricate carburetors/ injectors.
