My only questions is what are your mods and how much power are you making?

Nice review. Having the wing off should not negatively affect gas mileage however. It should not only add downforce but improve aerodynamics.....in theory.

bs, fyi more downforce means worse gas mileage since the car is sticking to the ground more. Was hard to me to understand at first but when you think of NASCAR more downforce=slower and use more gas since it is harder to move the car due to the increase in downforce.

Uh...it's something they call "drag".

Is "lifter tap" harmful to the motor in any way (e.g., decreases life), or is the sound just anoying? (I think I have this problem as well.) Thanks.

There are four aerodynamic forces acting on a moving object. Lift, weight, thrust, and drag. Weight is opposite lift and drag opposite thrust. The wing counters lifting tendencies yet creates drag, thus requiring more thrust to overcome this drag equalling a corresponding increase in fuel consumption. Without the wing, everything works in the exact opposite, less downforce = less drag = less fuel consumption.

BTW great post I took many notes......Thanks!
