When they put the generic GL-4 Mitsu gear lube in the t-case, it drained out black, smelly, and sticky when we flushed it after break-in. I had 2 dealers try to convince me that this was normal! I finally figured out the problem here on evom.net and by talking to a few people who race '03 Evos down in Florida. Everything was taken care of under warranty and my local dealer now stocks the proper lube.

If you just plan on crusing around in the car then i guess the lancer window is cooll... but its not a evo windshield and is not light weight.. adding 30 extra pounds to the front of the car and high up is not anything i would do to my evo.. just make sure your insurance covers damaged windshields.

This thread is meant to be informative for the evo community. Please stay out if you intend to flame-bait. I doubt that anyone here seconds your opinion, especially seeing as that you dont even own an evo.

yeah...I agree but I still have to own one cuz they are better than a 99 Grand Prix GTP and 93 Mustang.

Back to the topic..........with 75k on the clock, have you change the timing belt yet?
thank you for your great post

About the clear bra for the Evo, I got a price quote from a nearby shop yesterday, he'll do pretty much all the surface area you see by looking at the car from the front, including maybe 3-4 inches on the front of the roof, material + labor he'll do for $697. I've never heard of a clear bra prior to reading this thread, does that sound like a reasonable price? The material he'll use is the 3M industrial strength stuff.

1) Is it 3M industrial strength stuff or actual 3m material?
2) There is no need for you to do the whole hood, just the front part.
3) $697 does sound a little expensive.
4) Shop around and get quotes.
5) Ask if there is a warrentee against yellowing/peeling.....my installer gave me one (especially since your car will be in the intense florida sun!)
6) Just as a reference, I did my front lip, head lights, Front part of the hood, front bumper, Mirror housings, Side runners (from the front wheel to the rear on both sides), Area behind the wheels, and the whole rear bumper for about $750.00 Of course this was 1.5 years ago.
You should check around the local porsche boards/clubs......they usually know the best installers!
