voltage range of the ecu sensors????

i need some help guys......

i need to know the voltage range for the following sensors:

pin #72 Intake Air Temp Sensor signal

i found this but it is the resistance values

13-17 kohm [at-4f]
5.3-6.7 kohm [32f]
2.3-3 kohm [68f]
1.0-1.5 kohm [104f]
.56-.76 kohm [140f]
.30-.42 kohm [176f]

i need to know what voltage between 0-5 volts = temp

i also need to know
MAP pin # 73
coolent temp pin# 83

and Throttle postion Sensor Voltage pin #84

i checked the evo8 manual and everything is listed as ohms = temp

please help!!!!

Damn, I was just recently looking for this info... LOL

In reality, you could have figured it out from the Ohm value.. they gave you the impedence for the temps, and you know the voltage source is +5v so if the sensor is linear, you could have interpolated the values between the low and high points.

I don't recall the formula offhand but it can be calculated based on the impedence value.

You need a little more information. The circuit probably looks like this:

+5V --^v^v Rp ^v^v -- Vs -- ^v^v Rs ^v^v -- GND

where Rp is a pull-up resistor (the ^v^v is supposed to look like a resistor symbol), Vs is the sensor voltage, and Rs is the variable sensor resistance. The pull-up is necessary to limit the current. From the values posted it looks like Rp is 1k.

The current, I, is 5 / (Rs + Rp), so Vs is I * Rs, or Vs = 5 * Rs / (Rs + 1k)

Thats what sucks for those two sensors the voltage to temp output isn't linear. Glad I could help though.

Now I know why I couldn't recall the formula offhand..

TPS is linear I have listed my Max and Min values for my car but usually each car is just a little bit different.

As for the stock map sensor, I have honestly no clue. I didn't even try it before I took it off. I am sure it is a linear sensor as well though with a Min and Max value. Getting those values would be the hard part. I can probably get them for you this weekend if they don't get posted for you. I will be tuning a car with the Stock MAF and I will try to grab those values for you so I will let you know if I have any luck.

Min is 0.66 volts I believe 100% throttle.

Max is 4.88 volts I believe 0-1% throttle.

Also I could have the voltage for Min and Max backwards I will double check on this as well.

BTW, the stock MAP sensor on the intake is a 1bar sensor.. doesn't read boost pressure as far as I can tell..

Hmmm my AIT & coolant voltages go up not down.. I guess I need to swap my voltage settings so they go down instead of up?

What I meant is my Coolant voltage starts at around 2.02 volts and reaches 2.18 volts at the end of 3rd gear. I think I need to reverse my voltage settings so it goes down instead of up.

My AIT is the same way.. starts at 0.59 volts and reaches 0.71 volts at the end of 3rd gear.

I think I'm going to give in and get some GOOD software and log via ODBII.
