Import Forum
-----------------

Fast 4 cyl cheered by import owners, domestic troll says "..no replacement for displacement/it's still an import/it's just not the same as 'American Muscle'/Same amount of money in a V8 will = faster" - flame war ensues.

Domestic Forum
--------------------
Fast V8 cheered by domestic owners, import owner quotes "it's straight line only/never drive it on the street/milage sucks/where's your mullet, Camaro-kid". These arguements are so damn tired and redundant...making a 4cyl car put out 600hp is impressive, end of story. Why be an *** about it?

Maybe you didn't know but any car in Leman's, well lets just say their suspension is far from stock. Stock for stock it becomes a different story but obviously with the right amount of cash and know how any car can have incredible suspension. Sorry to break it to you dude but you are extremely wrong there. You can't go from talking about stock for stock suspension to Le Man's race touring car suspension. That defeats all logic as we know it.

I drive a Lightning, I love SVT Cobras. But for the cash it's hard to say anthing is better than an Evo. Speed, Handling, Reliability and incredible street/track ability of this car is down right amazing. Everyone has their own opinion, these is just my thoughts on the topic.

Edit: oh and lets not forget I don't see too many domestic displacement machines with four doors and a comfy backseat. Haha

Particularly relevant since the D.O.T. recently legalized the Corvette C5-R for the street.

Stay on point buddy...we are NOT talking about the C5-R...we ARE talking about a camaro...that's the cause of this FLAME WAR...

If we are going to flame, let's keep it a focused flame, all right?

PS: Do you even own an Evo? Have you even driven one? Have you driven a C5-R for that matter? Well, I have owned an E46 M3, Mustang GT, and Z32TT. I say the camaro fits around the same handling as my MustangGT and I had addjustable shocks, bushings, and sways on that GT...Trust me the Evo is THAT good...so YEAH, OMG, the Evo is an awesome handling car...and so is the vette...and so is the Porsche 996...and so is the Lotus Elise...and so is the Dodge Viper....But....duh, the subject was about a CAMARO whom some FLAMER decided to use for comparison.

He owns a Z06 Corvette and seems to have some inferiority complex, so he hangs out on evom and tries to make himself feel better (really, though, why? The Z06 is a good car). And the Camaro he is referring to is an old 400+ cubic inch '69 or something with a 300 shot of nitrous that had a support crew at the race and was trailered to the meeting point. Yes, it took that much to take out the Evo. Well, either that or broke7's kick *** driving skills.

You know what is scary, is that all this talk about this AMS 600WHP EVO is going on, only because he just happends to tape his encounters. There are even faster EVOs out there.

Also I hate it when people say, you spend enough money and you can make big power with anything. Well that statement is a little too general for me, how much money has to be spent? How much will it take to make a Tiburon make 500WHP+, how much to make a Miata or a MR2 Spyder make 500WHP. People act like if your just willing to spend, you'll make the big power, that's not always the case. Believe me, the EVO and 1st Gen/2nd Gen Eclipse makes 500WHP, 600WHP, 700WHP and so on, because it is relatively easier to do this on the 4G63 than any other 4-Cylinder Turbos. How many streetable SRT-4s are making 500-550WHP (you can count the number on one hand), how many streetable forced induction RSX Type S make 500-550WHP, not that many and this includes CN Stage 3 cars. How many 600WHP 240SXs/Silvias you see cruising the streets or even know about? How about the STi, list all the USDM street driven 500WHP+ STis? How many turbo 4-Cylinders can claim to make 700WHP+ and still be driven on the streets? Not many, I know of one, the EVO.

The Evo running 600hp spend 20K+, now that doesnt mean you cant build a 600hp Evo with less money. Im sure he wanted the best and didnt have a budget. You can also get 600hp easily if you know what parts will work and will get you those numbers...etc

You guys talk like a late model Camaro is like a Buick. C'mon...I've have both and they are not as different in performance as you are making them out to be. On street tires, yeah, night and day. But in a motorsports event (straightline, autocross, etc.) with race tires on both cars, they are close in performance with comparable mods.
