i also got a ticket this last weekend in WI. going 83 on a 65 ($230).
I HATE COPS!!!!

wow, you got a good deal....work zone fines are usually doubled over the standard fines, and you only got a seatbelt violation! I'm sure your car stood out and made his job a bit easier, but if you're gonna drive an EVO, best get used to the added attention (good and bad!).

Tell the judge you had your cruise set at 50mph and the officer wrote you a ticket for 55mph and you don't understand how that could be. Then explain to him that you just recently changed your rims and tires and that the tire company forgot to calibrate your speedo and thats why it was off by 5mph but now the problem is fixed and that you are very sorry this gross/unfortunate display of speed.
Keep in mind that you will have to plead not guilty and they will give you a new court date which sometimes the cop won't even show up and then the judge will throw it out anyway.

I tried it once and the judged threw it out of court. Best part was he gave the officer a nasty look and shook his head.
