Just go for anything except the typhoon. hks rs are good in performance as their cones filter less purities in the air hence more goes in the manifold. Also their filter have to be replaced more often then most filter. i bought the helix intake cause AL told me he saw good gains with it on a custom tune but not good as good as hks rs

I am assuming this is your first mod. If so stick with a drop in filter K&N, HKS, Stock. You really do not need to upgrade the intake. It is a nice set-up from stock. You would see more gains from spending your money on a Turbo back exhaust.

I went with the TurboXS kit. Think it was $115 shipped from JSCSpeed.com Didn't "feel" any gains. The turbo spool and the BOV are a lot louder.

I read a while back that a lot of people were having major A/F and stalling issues with the K&N typhoon intake. I'm not sure if this was due to a product defect or just because the intake is throwing off MAS readings really bad. As long as you are tuned for the K&N I don't think you'll have problems.

looks like your first mod...I suggest save up and get a TBE and some cams....then tune it!!!...You're intake won't give significant numbers....just put in a drop in...

K&N drop in is perfect. The factory airbox is near forced inductions system itself. Replacing it will reduce mid-range power. Until you are running an aftermarket turbo, you don't need anything else.

Send it back! The Typhoon system is total crap. K&N dropped the ball on the design work on this intake. I had it in my car for one hour and pulled it out and returned it. It caused a major lean condition, and can cause major problems. If you are going to get a intake I would go with the HKS unit. I still run a drop-in filter myself, and have noticed no lack of power when racing EVO's with the same mods including plus a intake. Just my 2 cents...

The new Works drop in filter is pretty nice.. I just swapped out a K&N with the Works piece and I'm very happy.
