You have to attach manifold gauges and then pull a vacuum. Then recharge the system with Feon and oil. Unless you know what you are doing, take it to a mech..

one of my friends charges his A/C all the time. he likes cold air i guess.

anyway, he said you just go buy a little recharge bottle, i think he said they have them at Wal-Mart, but i'm sure i saw them at Autozone the other day too.. they are just little bottles, you screw them onto the A/C tube in your engine bay, the little blue cap with an "L" on it i believe. he said that some of the recharge bottles have little gauges on them so you know how much pressure there is..

anyway, it sounded really easy. i would look into doing it yourself more before just taking to a mechanic and paying for it.

It's easy. Get the kit from any retail store. Get a little stick, on the low pressure side of the A/C and let the freon out. Start your car and turn your A/C on full blast. Once it's low then stick your hose on the low pressure side and open up the freon. Never do this on the high pressure side. On the gauge, it will indicate full or not. The kit should come with one lube, one freon, 1 gauge and hose kit for complete easy install. Sometimes it requires shaking the freon for it to flow faster(while its going into your A/C line). Again, your gauge will indicate if your A/C tank is full or not.
