Carbonfiber Trunk Install Help?

I bought a VIS carbonfiber trunk the other day....and i had a problem with the install a little bit but finally got that done..the fitment is fine..the problem i'm having is with the trunk weight...since the stock trunk weights a bit more..the torsion bars make this hood fly up when i pull the trunk release..so if anyone can help me out with this that would be great.....I tried to budge the trunk torsions and that seemed to not be happening..so if anyone knows how to remove these that would be great...they are the bars that lift the trunk after the trunk release is pullled... Thanks

yours actually fits cuz mine fits like ****. You should be able to remove one of the trunk springs so it doesnt fly up.

I would ask the dealer if there is another torsion bar for the RS (the RS has no wing so it probably has a different torsion bar). When I put a wing on my wife's Civic the dealer had a heavy duty torsion bar that I had to get. Honda also had a special tool to remove the old one.

I cut my torsion bars with a dremel and a cutting wheel, be careful though because they have a lot more bounce to them then you would expect. When I cut them it sounded like a gun shot!

The trunk will fit much better with them gone although it does suck to have to hold the trunk open. I bough a Fiber Images trunk and was pissed when I originally installed it, but after cutting the bars it fits perfect.

There is a tool to remove it. I am sure if you swing by the dealer and tip a mechanic, they can do it under 2 mins. Its very easy once you sell the tool. I removed both of mine for my Seibon trunk. Fitment wasnt that great either.
