I'm a gymnastics coach responsible for the "gymnastics technique" and safety for three gyms. DINK also helps - wifes car had to be paid off first ('03 Carolla S with leather).
It's still hard to afford - no money for mods

$660/month on a 5-year loan @ 3.99% on an MR that I bought the day it arrived. Insurance is only ~$70/month, but I'm 29, married w/dual income, benefit from multi-car discounts, and have USAA. I would never have been able to afford it on my own in my early 20s...

Paid it off with an equity loan on the house. Payments can be as low as $150 since it is on the equity loan. Equity on the house is twice what I owe on it so that was easy.

Insurance is about 1000/yr (It's good to be an old fart, but it's bad living in Miami. If I left Miami and went to... Pensacola, I could probably cut that in half)

Home equity rocks, but I'm using mine to buy a huge house, not to pay for cars. I wouldn't mind $500/month combined for 2 nice vehicles, though.
