Need help on AYC

anyone here familiar with AYC? i recently got a evo 6 tme equiped with an ayc. i just noticed that the handling of the 6 is way far better than the 2003 8, but is it because of the ayc? what does it actually do? all i know is that it adds power on outer wheels during cornering but what else can it do?

I have the AYC, but the better handling comes with the limited slips in the car. The americans didnt get the limited slips.

AYC is a funny thing, depending on the driver it can make you faster or slower.

Some drivers just hate AYC and have replaced it with an RS diff and just love it as they have more control over the car.

While some like the feeling of the rear diff playing around.

On paper the AYC diff should help cornering as it helps to push the end around a little to make the car turn in better, in practice is a bit of hit and miss affair.

As for the difference between SAYC and AYC, SAYC can distribute more torque to the drive wheel and has stronger internals.

As if you are going to be chasing big torque and doing standings starts you will find out the the AYC diff is a little weak for dealing with those conditions.

AYC would be good for the circuit but it may be a hindrance for drag?

Well according to AYC on Grand turismo it takes care of understeer problem in long turns, while accerating. It does get a little funny when you are on the crazy turns on nurenberg(Sp) track
