also on a side note when my buddy had his first Evo he got pulled over three times, all verbal warings
we both had apex silver ones no mods

cops cant pull you over if they are moving so if you pass a cop he can pull you over if he is driving fast but if you fight it you'll win because they are restricted to get your speed and so they have to be at a stand still to get it

I can't believe people are bragging about this sort of trash. You want to kill yourself, or, others? How about you just leave the others out of it and go straight to option A.
Because doing 120 on the street is the ultimate cosmetic mod for your car.

OR, take a bit more pricey of a hit. Take a guess as to what it is, it will make you weep.

When you are wrapped around a light pole with your buddy you were showing off for 100ft on the concrete in front of you through the windshield, or tboned a minivan with small children in it just to get your thrill of speed on the interstate and to look cool, maybe you will figure it out.
Take it to the damned track. Least there you won't kill anyone but yourself for your ineptitude.

I agree...if you really feel like gunning your evo's...take it to the track and pay the fees there to run your car...although speeding is addicting...we all have to keep in mind that there is a time and place for it...plus it's not the best feeling in the world to see or hear about a member of this forum or anyone with an evo or another car get into an accident...drive safely now.

I'm in the process of making it to the track. But I dont' live by riverside, buttonwillow, Las Vegas, etc, I live by Thunderhill. Also in case your dont know, it cost bout 230$ just to get onto a track (not including gas, food, etc.) and thats kinda a bit of money (almost a car payment).
Ok, now that thats out the way, why in the hell did someone bring this back from the dead????
and last, if you wanna flame, check out post #71 & #80
Same here. I think the COPS around here like the EVO too much to give me a ticket!

Also, what does it mean to have a ticket? Does it mean that you are in-fact doing something wrong... or does it mean that the citing officer was a witness to something he thinks was wrong and you have the right to contest that claim?
Laws are inherently vague because you need some flexibility to capture items no one would have thought about.
If you are intentionally doing something wrong (knowing the speed in an area and exceeding it) then you are intentionally subjecting yourself to the risk of being caught. When you get caught, regardless of it is several times on the same day or once ever couple decades, you have to realize that you were caught PROBABLY because you were doing something wrong. NOW, if you are incorrectly caught for something... there is a system in place for you to deal with that as well. Learn how to properly deal with those things in that venue.
As for myself, I have had various citations in my driving tenure. I average about 1 moving violation every 1.5 years. Was I doing something that could possibly be considered wrong for each one of those, YES. Along the way... I learned I had a voice in the court system... I fight all my tickets. I am proud to say that today... I have read and understand most of the C.V.C laws in the full C.V.C manual and when I break the law, I know what I am being cited for. I also know what process needs to be followed on the part of the police officer. Coupling all that knowledge, I am able to put together a case which I can take to court and maintain my clean driving record. I have received tickets, but I maintain a clean record. That is key folks.
One item to note: I don't drive recklessly, I have Zero accidents and in the past 15 years of logging on average of about 100 miles a day, I have only had 1 in motion accident where a lady made a right turn from a center lane into my door (her fault) and I tried my best to save from that accident as well... I made the call to let her hit me rather then veer and hit a parked car.
Caution: If you feel compelled to drive in an extreme manor, because you feel you have the skills to do so, then please take it to the track. The public road is for PUBLIC use, the rules in place are for the average driver... not for the special case of YOU. If you have a McLaren that can do 200 MPH and you want to drive that fast... do it on the track because our public roads are not designed with that criteria/usage in mind. Why are people *****ing and moaning on this issue to be responsible? Because, believe it or not, we don't want to see a diminishing number of Evo enthusiasts (owners, drivers, passengers, or everyday people who watch the evo's go by). <Stepping off of soap box>

the reason they MUST have a speedlimit is because of the lackluster driving test that they give you for your liscence, its a joke.

my stories,
ive had 3 speeding tickes in my 3 years of driving ( i took def. driving and got one off)
the first one i diserved, going 20 over.
the 2nd i also diserve, going 17 over cuz not paying att.
and the last one cuz the bike cop clocked me coing 15 over in a school zone, i saw the cop on the sidewalk and i looked at the school zone speed light thing and i did not see the yellow lights blinking so i sayed goint 40 and he stoped me and ticketed me. aperently the lights where on and 5 men. later the light stoped blinking
.this resently happend, as i was gong to school(witch is a 40 mile drive one way through 2 of the most cop patrold towns) when 10 mins in my drive to school, in the first town (55 speed zone) i was going 60 and i was behind ppl, a school flashlight cop who can only hand out parking tickets from my schoo(who i think lives in that town) started following me in his personal truck. well he follows me all the way to the school and stops me as i park. well he is so pissed becuz he told me that i was going 80-90 in a 65 and that i was lucky that he could not find a dps cop around to arrest me for reckless driving. the problem is that i was not speeding at the point in time.
any ways he was pissed cuz he could not get me a ticket for that. then he asked me if i had a parking perment, did not have a parking permet so he teckets me for at and felt very proud.
i dont speed often and i have learnd my lessend, also i think that the speed set for the highway should go up alittle more.
