Angry Insurance = off the heeze

Just got a letter in the mail saying my insurance is going up 400 bucks!! My total is now 2900 for the year. Can you guys believe this crap? The reason was that the symbol rating for the car has now changed or something along those lines.

I'm 22, living in MA, with 3 speeding tix in the past 5 years. I think we get a huge discount when we've been driving for 6+ years so I should have some relief in sight soon enough. What are you guys paying? Is it as outrageous? My insurance payment is creeping up to what most people pay for their cars

So much money down the drain with this hobby

Geico sent me a letter saying that my car was rerated based on incident statistics, so my insurance went up too.

do you know of any breaks when you've been driving for 6 years? I've heard that you are not classified as "inexperienced" after the 6 year mark, and get a huge break.

I've looked into what insurance would cost me if I bought an Evo... I'm 20 right now. One accident 2 years ago (black ice, downhill slope, rear end, my fault), and no tickets. Online quotes seem to be trying to hit me for ~$4000/yr. It's really putting me off...

Yeah, you should be getting a break for 6 years (experience) and when you hit 23 you also get another break. Also keeping your points down helps. Just a few more months for the 23 years break for me. The 23 years break is pretty big, my friend was paying 2800 for his GSX now he pays about 2000.

There are people in NNJ paying over 5k for their cars so you could consider yourself lucky.
You'll get a pretty decent break once you hit 25, of course unless you speed some more and get caught for it
You can also get a break by having a beater daily car and say you only drive your Evo on the weekends. That's not gonna save you much on insurance (if you look at the total cost) but you'll be saving on gas and maintenance on your Evo.

Reading about what some of you guys pay makes me drive speed limit more and more often.
