The 05's definitely have a MAF sensor. The question is whether or not the 05's come equipped with a MAP sensor as well.

all evo models use a MAP sensor as well as a MAF, how do you think the ecu knows how much you're boosting? when the map indicates 19psi it cuts off boost.. but probably made some few changes in the ecu software to run VTA for the 05 models

I need to try this out too. VTA would be a nice option to have with MAF.

Sorry, VTA does not work properly, sure it runs, but the Evo has no way to understand that it is Venting, sorry. When you vent, you have all this air that is counted and then it's tossed out the intake instaed of back into it. BUT you have all that fuel to match that spent air, so you run rich inbetween shifts, can hurt you spoolup inbetween shifts and will SURELY foul your plugs. It is a passable with the stock turbo, but try so with a BIG turbo and it gets worse unless you have a MAP. And yes it'll idle without the MAF attached, even on my 03 it idled fine but hit the gas and see what happens

The EVOs have always had both MAF and MAP sensors ... as you can see from the ecu-wiring diagram in the link:
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/e...-ecuwiring.htm

pin-73 Manifold Differential Pressure Sensor (MAP)
pin-90 Volume Air Flow Sensor Signal (MAF)
pin-85 Barometric Pressure Sensor Signal (probably MAP also)

I might have 73 and 85 mixed up ....

It will definitely fit in nicely with your current mod list...
