yes, you don't ground your e-brake wire, you have to connect that to your e-brake. that's your safety device incase someone tries to steal your car while the TT is on.
And I don't know what bad ground or improper ground is, but if your TT isn't grounded, the TT will not Turn on, period.
Grounding doesn't mean, half metal, half rubber, it means grounding it where the ground wire is touching another solid metal surface.
even it's half grounded or "improperly" grounded, without that e-brake wire, the tt will turn off.
