On the other hand $79.00 is cheap, in Pa. its $105.50 for your tag light out ect. That is the cheapest price in Pa. I worked as a cop there for 10 years I now work as a cop in Md and there tickets are cheap here.
Just to let you know about laser. You could be in a pack of cars around 30 or so. All they have to do is pick out 1 car and hit it with the laser and get your speed. (Like little video camera).
Radar detectors don't work when I’m running radar I will sit wait till I see the car then hit it with the radar. I have your speed before you even hit the brakes.
The only time radar detectors works is when cops leave it on (mainly moving radar) then your detector will pick it up before the cop will see you.

A cop pulled me over on Memorial day. I have the radar detector mounted in the middle of my windshied, there was no way he could've missed it, but I did everything right (told him what I was doing with my movements (thanks PhillyEVO)) and the ticket was reduced from 81 --> 75 on the spot.
I've never had any of my ticket go on my record. If my insurance company were to find out my rates would blow the roof off. ^ that one was my 3rd i've recieved.
To mookie: register on www.stlsr.com/forums it's the local "racing" (no racing actually goes on) site. We have a lawyer that will most likely charge you $60 if you mention that you are a STLSR member. 314-725-5777 is his number and his office is in Clayton.

He just for some more info In Pa and here in Md when you go to court they will let you pay the ticket with no points that what the lawyers do. Talk to the DA. Or States attorney or what ever they call the prosecutor in your state..... An Insurance Co. will never no it..... does not go one your driving record........ Save the money for the lawyer put it towards your car.
what i would do is postpone your court date twice. i don't know what the laws are in st. louis but in md you can do this. just call the court house tell the clerk that you can't make it to the court date because you are going out of town or doing something like that. do this twice and it will significantly lessen the chance that the cop will show up. it has worked for me many times in the past. hope this helps

I think he means that I can pay and no points off my license so my insurance won't go up. I will look into that, thanks PHILLYEVO.
