Anyhow, I just bought my 05 EVO about 1 week ago, its been great so far and has been the car I always wanted. After reading about the EVO 9 with the MIVEC motor, i think the 05's are the best since they have the bigger turbo, all the kinks worked out that the 03/04 models had, plus the motor is still the classic 4G63.

I know that the MIVEC probably is gonna have its limitations. I know the RSX-S compared to the B18C powered Integras dont respond as well to mods, especially with the I-VTEC crap that it has.

Anyhow, I honestly think the 05 model EVO's will eventually be as hot has the 97-98 Supra TT's....later, a few years down the road.

 

Maybe, maybe not. About the whole I-VTEC thing and how your saying it's crap...I don't think so.. The K-Series, escpecially the K20a, is known for responding well to mods. The MIVEC should do nothing but GOOD to the 06 Evo IX. No one can say for sure now, but www.bestmotoringvideo.com is coming out with their new DVD sometime this month. Maybe in a week or two, its going to have a HUGE EVO IX test on there. We will see what happens then

yes, i'm trying to compare it to the 03-05 EVO's as the last year with the traditional engine....with the 05 being the best of the 3 years

 

for sure the 05s are the top evo. have to wait and see if the 9 will be the best of the 4g63

either way 8/9 will be as hot as the supra. cant see a used evo dropping below the 20k mark for resale

 

Too bad a 98 Supra goes for around the same as it did off the lot.

Evo resale is being hurt by all the little "me too" crowd who had to get the "it" car of 2003 and has now grown tired of it since it's not the flavor of the week. It makes me sick to watch people whoring their cars out for sale with asking prices that are below trade-in book value. Thanks a lot and enjoy your G35 coupes.

 

Im sure the mivec will kick ***. I know with honda the k20a motor with a few simple bolt ons surpases a very built b18. Even though I have a evo I love the new k20. I'm sure when the mivec comes here it will take some time to get the full potential of the motor when it comes to aftermarket.

 

k series motors are by far the most poetent honda motor yet. as for the new mivec turbo 4g63 motor we just have to wait and see.

 

I gotta say that if i found a 93.5 TT Supra with 20k miles for under 35, It would be the sweetest thing ever. I dont see Evos doin that. Its no I-6TT. And Evos are too problematic compared to supras

 

If i had the dough i'd buy both. Need a RWD to keep it fresh. ;p

 

K20s are the best Honda motor yet, far superior to the old b-series. I sometimes wish i had an 05 Evo though. Naaaaaaa. I love my car.

 

Stop trying to justify the fact that you bought a car that has just been outdated by a newer "fresher" version in less than a year. Its okay to have an '05 but please dont trash the '06 cuz of things that you can't prove. Just my couple of pennies.

 

We all own evos....all part of the same family..why are we trashing one another..btw my 03 has 12k miles on it... .. about the MIVEC lets just hope that things work out...For the IX owners sake
