I don't understand why everyone's flaming the original poster... All he is stating are his opinions. The 05's are improved from the 03's and 04's. Mivec on the IX could be a limitation, nobody knows yet. Give the man a break, he's still on the initial thrill of buying a new Evo. Let him enjoy it.

I would say that the X will be a real Evolution with its 360Hp. I just hope that Mitsu doesn't launch it with a Neon look.
I do not know about you, but I like the Mivec system = more low end torque and better power band. Do not forget that the JDM version has its peak torque 500rpm earlier than US version.
I can't wait to test drive a IX!!!

This kind of thread gets started on every forum whenever a new car gets ready to come out. Happened on the RSX forums when the 05 RSX came out and Im sure it happened on the Mustang forum when they released the new stang. I think its people getting nervous that the new car will be better than the old one. I have no intention of getting a 9 but I really hope it has improved from the 8 (hard to improve perfection though

No....I owned a all motor 95 Integra GSR from 1995-2003. I did most of the work myself...and the car made 192+ WHP on the stock B18C bottom end.
i know a little about IVTEC, but ever since I sold my Integra I stopped following the honda tuner crowd.

I honestly dont care about the EVO 9 that much, although I would like to have its interior, and front/rear bumpers, but what the heck, If I want my 8 to look like a 9, I can get the front and rear bumpers from the 9 and I'd be set.
Its just that I hear from my various sources that JUN of Japan had trouble extracting more than 400 WHP from the MIVEC motor. If someone can show me proof that the MIVEC motor is just as potent as our current 4G63 motor then I'll quit my ranting...

I based my argument based on what one of my EVO MR buddy told me. he told me that JUN of Japan had trouble extracting more than 400 WHP from the MIVEC motor. Nope I havent done the research myself...and I know I probably should but, time will tell.

well I think its only natural for mitsu to release the 9, just like all the other generations. I could have waited for the 9 to come out, but decided on just hurrying up and getting the 8 cuz I believe with all my heart....until I'm proven wrong, that the original "tried and true and proven" 4G63 will whoop on the 9 with its MIVEC crap, ohh and another thing, the 9 I think has the electronic "drive by wire" throttle crap like the WRX STi.......
But I still would like to have the 9's front and rear bumpers and maybe the interior...hehehe...
