LOL, well I'm glad to be able to start it......

FLAME suit on....

anyhow people, yes, we are all EVO owners, we are all part of the same family, but I'm just making my thoughts on the MIVEC motor known.

Until I get my but whooped at the track by the 9 and its MIVEC crap, with similar mods, my opinions will stay the same...

Just wow.

ok for arguments sake, I can say that the B series engine started off as the B16A in the Civics I guess in 1989 or so in japan..... so from 1989-2001, The B-series has been around, I think the 4g63 has been around the same length of time.

Anyhow, I'm not comparing them side by side for performance. Both are different motors, but once both companies decided to add MIVEC and i-VTEC...well... you know how I feel.

i myself was able to drive an evo 9 RS here in PI while getting my TME fixed. here is how i would judge it. it responds very well in low RPMs to mid RPMs, but still has the same power at high RPMs. the evo 9 i drove was a euro-spec lhd RS. its great for city driving, but im not sure with the gas consumption though. its a great car though! but nothing would still compare to the handling of the 7 and the 6, and the power of the 5.

you will know soon after we conclude another "evo attack the track test part II" which will be filmed for a local show here. my VI tme will be participating and we are putting in the 9 for this. i wasnt here for part 1 but i heard that it was the evo 7 that got the most points for the fun factor, the 5 for the acceleration, and the 7 for handling.

Its just that I hear from my various sources that JUN of Japan had trouble extracting more than 400 WHP from the MIVEC motor. If someone can show me proof that the MIVEC motor is just as potent as our current 4G63 motor then I'll quit my ranting...
I don't think you should believe everything you read on the internet. How about, uh, I don't know... waiting for the damned car to come stateside before whining?

i know a little about IVTEC, but ever since I sold my Integra I stopped following the honda tuner crowd.

Thanks for proving my point. Ive owned two k-series cars, one supercharged that I street tuned with Hondata's k-pro that to date has the highest dyno numbers. Kseries shouldnt even be compared with bseries engines, the technology is like comparing apples to oranges.

b-series as i recall reading in a honda tuning back then they are dinosaurs, as opposed to the K-series , they say they are the most potent motor yet honda has put into their cars.

Everyone should stop speculating so much on the power potential of the MIVEC eqipped EVO IX. Only time will tell.

Have you guys thought about "upgrading" your car to make it "better"? (Isn't that what this website is for?) I just bought my EVO. Guess what? I bought an 03. I could have bought an 05, but I didn't need to have an 05. (saved a lot of money) I don't need to be the coolest kid on the block. I just ****in love this car. ...and in a year, my EVO will be faster, and handle better than any future generation evo to come out.
