My "letter" to all 05 EVO 8 owners
now its starting to sound like the s2000 2000-2002 no low end tq but it has a nice high end 9000 RPM redline / 2003-2005 it has low end tq but not that much high end 7600 RPM redline
i dont like the leaner power band like the sti thats why i got the evo! well not really theres more to it then just that but i like when the 4g63t turbo kicks you in the a$$ i know the 9 will be a little more powerful but i like the faster spooling smaller turbo crossover! and yes this is the classic set up

fuel injected cars will never make as much power as a carburated car
it's just a new thing to figure out. it may take a little time, but it will get figured out, like when the k20 honda first came out people were losing power with bolt ons. then everyone figured it out and look at it now. im sure the same thing happened with the switch to fuel injection at first, adn it'll happen here too

And to translate this a bit further: Stop trying to knock the latest and greatest Evo to make yourself feel better about what you have. The Evo will NOT - factually - be the king of the Evo hill anymore soon. It still won't suck, but just know that it's not the top dog anymore. It's part of life. Grow up.
I'm kind of in the same boat. I just bought a new 05, which I am really enjoying. I though about buying the IX but was just worried about aftermarket products for the IX. I figured I'd stick with what is already proven, which is the current model. I know the IX is going to be the better car right out of the box, but if it turns out they can't be modified to the power levels an 03-05 can be I would be disappointed later. Plus, i figure the cost of the IX is gonna be so inflated for a while, might as well take advantage of 0% financing.

It's supposed to be pushing 20.2 PSI..... A Monster
if I buy another it will be a evo X. I would have bought a 9, but I am a little impatient and just got an 05, and I love it. The 9 will be nice though.
the evo 7 is my favorite though.

so the 9 is going to get a bigger turbo but make the same/less boost then the 8's
at least the 05's i know have 20.5 and the 03/04's make 19.0
How is the EVO IX turbo bigger. Compressor/Turbine wheels are bigger? I saw from a picture that the compressor housing is bigger but that will make minimal differences. Anyone know about the wheels and the turbine housing? I read somewhere just the compressor housing is different.

Yo yo yo yo, got be in with the know. Sounds more like gangsta wanna be's than car enthusiast on here. **** moan and cry. Technonology doesn't stop. If you don't like it drive an older car or model. Aftermarket manufacturers in Japan will have upgrade cams and internals for the new Mivec 4G63. Might not be overnight. If there is a market there will be parts. Go back ten years, parts weren't designed and manufactured as soon as a new model came out. Consumers had to wait. Technonology today has cut waiting time down to almost nil.
And what does it matter with performance of the stock IX car. Who drives anything stock?

why are you guys throwing out numbers on boost, turbo size blah blah whatever, when you dont know anything, neither do I!
Wait until the U.S. version is offically released then talk about it.
