Is there any truth to the $25K price for the GSR that I've been hearing?

I have read that $25k is the USD amount for a GSR in Japan.

Re: Evo 7 US Stats And Price

we dyno it at 315 hp.

Is that wheel HP? If so, then flywheel hp would be a lot more, right? I mean the 250+ HP we've been hearing about is flywheel hp correct?

Don't confuse yourself, flywheel = hp at the wheels. Therefore, the rumored 250 hp is not flywheel hp but horsepower the engine outputs before drivetrain loss. Considering drivetrain loss is 20-30% on AWD, horsepower to the wheels will be considerably lower than 250.
May someone correct me if I'm wrong...

EvoSoul's correct in that the specs manufacturers give is almost always at the flywheel. Dynos are like treadmills for a car though, so they measure at the wheel. At least that's what I've read on them. Like he said, "May someone correct me if I'm wrong."

almost right evosoul, but lap was a bit closer in terminology..
flywheel HP does NOT equal HP at the wheels... Flywheen HP is HP at the flywheel, which is the plate that the crankshaft is connected to, to interface w/ the clutch. the flywheel is before the transmission, tranfer cases, differentials, etc. you are correct, you do lose about 20% or more HP due to the drivetrain, but you gotta subtract that from flywheel HP. so if an evo comes over w/ 250 HP (unless they say HP at wheels, assume its flywheel HP), you'll be getting around 200 at the wheels or so.

and lap561, just because a car is dynoed, doesnt mean its hp at the wheels, many times they'll just pull and engine out and connect it straight to a dyno, thats how they get flywheel HP. dont assuem b/c its been dynoed that its at the wheels, especially if or another manufacturer does it.
