Did you pop your hood without knowing you DONT have too?
Did they tow you?
Was it like $2k bucks if it didnt get fixed and checked by the reff??
Local cop or CHP wrote you up?
We EVO owners out here in CA need to know what to look out for that is why im asking. I dont expect a small town cop to be trained on our cars but I heard CHP trains its people vividly with photo's and such. This is why I plan on running a white Rabbit and MR BOV and 'dirty looking' DP and cat, etc; so it will look stock. Ive even thought of welding/tacking the stock DP's heat sheilds onto a big DP so it will 'appear' stock. A WORKS X plate tray will cover up the DP and a properly welded up stock cat housing around a 3" test pipe should keep the officers properly confused. I can drive a de-catted '05 Hummer with an intercooled ATI supercharger all day long and be legal...thats whats F-d up about this deal! A tuned evo runs cleaner and leaner than a stock car with a stained black bumper so this all doesnt make sense at all..

Yes, You have to go to smog station and pass the test first. Then, you can go to DMV. I think you have to register your car in 60 days. If you register late, they fine you also. And, there is no CA certified stickers under your hood.

I have a Texas license plate and I got pulled over yesterday and got fix-it's for no CA registration and license plate... I got warning for "lane change" and no front plate...
He also thought my exhaust was modified but my car is bone stock... This is a PITA, I have to get it smog tested, get a CA D/L, and get my car registered... will end up costing over $300, I think... sucks... I should've told the guy I drove here for vacation or something...
