Diamond Star Motors.... huge info about it at dsm.org but basically it's referring to lasers/talons/eclipse's 89-94 and talons/eclipse's 95-99 that have the 4G63 engine.

From a 20 roll, it might be close. Sure the evo can hook up better, but those gst shouldn't be underestimated. Do your best and good luck, but i've seen a stock tsi awd beat a evo on the highway. no bull****. It all comes down to driver skill!!

Ur evo will stomp all over a stock turbo'd GST. Just be sure that the turbo is stock and not a big 28 or something else that uses the stock turbo housing.

ok i looked under his hood. I asked what he's running he said T3 then he said a T25 ported or something. Well i looked at the turbo and its fairly smaller htan mine but it said TD05H on the turbo when i glanced at it. Well i havent raced him at full potential but had a short run for fun with him in 2nd at around 30mph and i pulled on him slowly but he claimed he wasnt even redlining and his AVC-R setting was set so he'd save gas and his turbo would spool at like 4500rpm. What do u guys think? He's not as slow as i thought cuz i slowly pulled on him. But i plan to add Buddy CLub 272s and a dynoflash

if it says td05 it's probably a 1g stock turbo or a 16g or even an 18g. it's not stock though...thats for sure

A few points. Evo weighs 3263, GS-T 2970 for the '99 which was the heaviest one.

Evos are not DSMs. The first year of the DSM was 1990. Why all these vendors keep showing '89, I don't understand. However, several cars were built as long ago as '88, just not released as anything but MY1990.

I was at about 200whp on my T-25 with similar mods, maybe the S-AFC would have eked out a few more, but it wasn't worth it.

He is trying to sucker you because he does not have the stock turbo anymore. TD05H on the housing could be anything from a 14b, 16g, 17c, B16G, EVOIII B16G, 18G, or 20G on the inside.

i didn't think the avc-r could change what rpm you make boost at, i thought it only controlled how much boost.

unless he's an idiot, he wont be claiming to smoke you with the wheezer stock garbage eclipse t25 turbo. Ive got a 16g on my GST spyder and I can take stock or near stock evo's from a roll very easily. Its difficult for us to gauge becuase you dont appear to really know his mods. Eclipses with turbo swaps are very quick, especially the FWD's from a roll. Speaking from a big 2G fan (hence the name), without a true mod list, your guess is as good as ours.

thanks for replies, well this guy just crashed his car and bent his subframe but no engine damage so I will be racing him soon, but i just ordered my buddy club 272s/fuel pump/dynoflash tune so i dont htink its gonna be too fair anymore, BUT now his friend with a SVT Cobra challenged me with flowmaster pipes. Better challenge. But i will still be racing the GS-T but i can already see the outcome.
