Logging on here in the morning in France with my cup of coffee just to see that you guys have been fighting over an Evo vs Honda S2000 thread posted (in a deliberately provocative manner) by an 18-year-old
LOL I almost spit coffee on the screen when I saw that there were 7 pages of replies!
Go to a Honda forum and post your crap there, nobody here believes any of it. Not even sure the Honda people will BTW
I swear here is an influx of NXS's all of a sudden....Within this last week Iv'e seen 3 ...I usually see maybe 1 a month if that. Those things look sooooo nice..probably because they are Acura's now instead of Hondas
Ok ok ok.... Just to show what a moron this guy is I'll tell ya..... Down here in South Fla there are sooo many S2000's.. A lot of little punks drive them around tryin to look cool.... When I first bought my WRX, while it was stock, so many S2000's tried to race... They were easily beaten by my "STOCK" WRX.... So I wouldn't want to say much more about that little POS..... 240hp-140lbs torque? Car can't move...
Are you a chick?
Snap oversteer... I witnessed it my self, his *** hit the wall
Do you want to drive around at 6000rpm and up?
The Honda tranny will last because it has no low end torque.
If you can't decide, you don't get it.
Go buy the Honda. Let someone else buy the Evolution.

The level of ignorance in these posts (both by joe cancer and other members) is incredibly high. If you don't know what you're talking about, don't post.
There are already close to 30,000 S2000s on the streets, Honda expects to sell about 10,000 a year in the US, and the S2000 will not be altered on a regular basis as the Evolution will be. There will be under 10,000 Evolution 8s sold in the next two years, when the 9 should roll out. Which is rare?
The S2000 is just as capable as the Evolution in a corner. The Evo will obviously pull out of the exit faster, and thus probably be considered a faster cornering car.
Since when do dealers know anything?
The 4G63 spins the wrong direction. It'd be an impressive swap, though.
If picking up "hoes" is your goal, I suggest a BMW, Mercedes, or Porsche.
The S2000 isn't most convertibles. Its frame is extremely stiff, which is why it weighs 2750 lbs.
You can get 2 golf bags in the trunk of an S2000 if you try. One bag is easy.
Autocrossing is mostly driver anyway, so this is a lousy comparison. As a whole, the Evo is faster, but it will not be in the same class. The Evo will end up in T1 (SCCA) - is it faster than a Z06 or a 911?
What was the S2000 all about? Hmm - handling, technology, style. Did anyone mention handling?
What do you consider a touring car?
Sounds like you need an F-body
No hating, just answering your (inane) questions.
The Best Handling videos are, uh, not really a good basis... Yes, they're all very good drivers, going fast, but they are not driving 10/10 and they are not pushing the cars 100% - even the drivers admit that sometimes they just parade around (really fast). Sorta like F1
Yes, he is.
Wasted 2 months of your life, apparently.
Probably September 3rd, at Rally Australia. One car only (Alister McRae).
No.
The Lemon list is bull****, plain and simple. It's based on the number of complaints per vehicles sold. A lot of people bought the S2000 not realizing what they were getting into, and the complaints reflect that, as did the number that were traded in to dealers with 1500 miles on them. It's not a bulletproof car by any means, though. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Evo on the list.
It's not the dealers - it's the DSMs (district service managers). They don't want to shell out $11,000 for a motor or $6,500 for a transmission if they can get around it (i.e. blame it on the owner).
Driver error.
And, of course, it wasn't your fault?
Altering any car's suspension is asking for trouble. If you think you can drop an Evo 2" without any side effects, think again... I'm not saying it can't be done, it's just not a matter of shortening the springs and calling it good.
The computerized tach reminds me of an F1 car
, although it's very hit-or-miss with people.
Amen.

Where as you could get 4 in an evo.
The s2k also has a trunk big enough to carry a backpack. Honestly I almost bought one about a year ago, and I was not impressed when I drove it.
I belive an EVO will be more fun. My opinion though.

Joe, there is a video (Japanese "Best Motoring") floating around the internet with a EVO VII matching against the S2K, both driven by professional driver in Japan. That is what most people are refering to.

Then, check out this link. Interesting conspiracy theory, eh? I mean, thousands of S2000 owners are deliriously happy with their cars, right? But how does that cliche go? Ignorance is bliss. Maybe it's all a big hoax, who knows? But when you're shelling out $30K+ for a car, it's certainly not comforting knowing that a dealership may OR may not help you should something go wrong. click here

I was wondering who was going to mention the snap oversteer problem on the s2k. Apparently, with the stock suspension, everything is peachy. It's when you start affecting the suspension geometry with aftermarket lowering springs/shocks that snap oversteer can rear it's ugly head when pushing the car to it's limits.
Oh, one more thing. That computerized tach reminds me of my parents old 87 ford taurus tach. T-A-C-K-Y...
