how is a launch control cheating?
there are more than just a launch technique when you drag race.
the shifting, rpm control, etc.
so, i don't see why people say this is cheating when all pros use this and this is a good helping device on drag racing. Not only that you could add anti-lag control with this launch control, which also helps.
if this is cheating, you modding your car from the factory is cheating as well, like putting an exhaust in, taking your cat out, intake, cams, etc.
It's good that you could do this with a flash.
I know Al's working with putting this on.
It sure beats spending $2000 for a standalone to obtain this feature if you're just looking for an inexpensive alternative to gaining LC.

Launch Control works great!!!
I had launch control on my 92 Eclipse GSX set at 6000rpm about 6 years ago with MSD DIS-2. My 60 foot times were between 1.6 to 1.7 depending on my tires and boost settings. At the street races barely anyone knows about this 6 years ago and with street tires the car did a 12.01 with just minor mods/turbo upgrade/ stock motor. I basically launch the car about 3-5 car lengths faster than any car at the streets I tried 6 years ago with this feature. But, the best feature about launch control is consistancy, you cannot do it wrong and it's almost idiot proof. But, my ACT clutch died after about 60 launches but that's 60 drop clutch launches... I'd say they make a one of the best clutch I've used, including ralliart, os giken, rps, etc... Basically I launch the car by releasing the clutch and handbrake at the same time. The reason for using the hand brake is to let the car not "ROLL" I'm pretty sure people who got this feature on their EVO will love this.
