Keeping engine cool on roadcourse

Anyone have difficulty keeping their engine cool on a roadcourse? How did you correct this issue?

Thanks.

buy a radiator, the t-stat killer, or your basic 2, a t-stat., or a radiator shroud, that bolts to the top of the radiator.. gruppe-s has a good deal right now on one.. thats really all you can do...

The Koyo radiator definitely helps. I also use Purple Ice radiator additive and remove the rain guard from the hood vent.

so the radiator shroud really helps? I mean I bought it for that fact and maybe for looks, , also...but I guess I really didnt' think it would help that much. That's great to know.

I'm sure the intercooler spray helps alot also.. but I just kept forgetting to turn it on during my sessions.

assuming your stock: the 'BIG' PWR radiator... turn down boost a little.. add Redline Water Wetter... run 'rich'...

you will get better responses if you post this under the 'motorsport' section...

after I install the autometer, i found out the water temp. actually is not that bad at the track....it stay around ~210 most of the time. (90F outside). But the oil temp is another story.......it went as high as ~245f during hot lap and will came back down to 210f on the cool down lap.

Yeah the oil temp is bothersome in the car. Moreso than the water temp. Plus brake temps get out of control as well. I run the Koyo radiator, no shroud, with a bottle of water wetter. I keep the IC sprayer on manual (although I have Al's alky kit sitting at home, so once that's in, it'll be a different story), and he water temp is fine. I have the factory brake cooling ducts, but nothing in terms of a solution yet for the oil temp. I've tried fabbing some things, but nothing with success yet.

Everything on my car as far as cooling is stock and I've never noticed the factory needle climbing up past halfway, so I figured there is nothing wrong with the cooling. I've done quite a few track days like that. I didn't know the oil temp was that high (no oil temp gauge) but I figured it would be alright (factory oil cooler and all) but now maybe I'll look into putting a fan on top of the oil cooler. Thanks for the tip.
