How about option C.
Run option A, rip them all, then after the last round yank out the stops and do a record run. I think all would agree with this one! I think even the officals at the track would love an exibition run by Dynoflash.

That sounds like a great idea actually - if I get knocked out early that will give me even more time to prep the car

I just have to plan out in advance realistically how long it will take to transform the car

Al you might as well run with the big boys, because either option you WILL be a loser at the shootout. There will be a few passes to be made before qualifying.
But I understand you want to maximize which ever setup you run for which ever
class. If I remember right you lost the Evo class to a much slower car last year!

*QUOTE* Also - I weight 300 lbs and I have a very heavy roll bar its not that fun racing against 140 lb guys who have no roll cage at all in the car - that gives them a 250 lbs advantage right off the batt. Without NOS and with a full exhuast is just seeming so slow for me these days. *QUOTE*

Stop eating burger king sounds like a good mod for you AL!

I will bet that whatever your best pass is some one who is 140 pounds will run a better time then yours with no nitrous!

Man I love the shootout!

Remember arm chair racer who is the fastest and quickest without nos !

Also - smack yourself in the side of the head and shake those cob webs out of your memory - last year my car was broke and I pushed through the red light on the staging lane due to a broken clutch line. Then in April I won the WRX vs. Evo shootout in Norwalk Ohio after Mr. Brown poped off his clutch clip - see September, 2005 Turbo magazine. The way I calculate it we are 1 for 1 tied.

Well BIG AL first I am no arm chair racer. No, I do not have the funds to be as fast as you. Good job to you!

Who said anything about Mr. Brown? I quoted what you said about being overweight racing someone that is in shape at 140.
So you were really calling out or talking crap to Mr. Brown with your post on 250 pound advantage? Oh I see, dang cobwebs in the head! You are talking about losing to Mr. Brown at last years DSM shootout. It just sounded like you were referring to someone in particular with the 140 pound no cage post!

I did not hear that you had a problem with your car last year at the shootout. But that is a old street racer thing, when you lose there is always something wrong with the car. But if you win the car could not be better!
Yes you did win the EVO shootout. Good job again to you!

What is your best MPH no nitrous? I think Mr. Brown has went 141 no nitrous! Or so I hear. Which beats the 138 that is in your sig. So if that is the FASTEST mph you are only the quickest. I could say, even if you have gone faster that Mr. Brown is the fastest not spaying anything! Heck, he might be the quickest and fastest not spaying anything!

You can set me straight if I am wrong!

Good luck at the DSM shootout!

Wow what a thread. Al, you can run whatever class you want, heck I would rather you run Quick 16 to give me a better shot at EVO 8 heads up. With all this crap on the net maybe David can just set up a one pass grudge match between you and I after the event, you with nitrous, Hoosiers, and open exhaust against me with radials, full exhaust and no nitrous? Sounds fair to me. Anyways lets all just have a good time at the shootout, this is my 9th one, always fun, no need for all this.

I agree Mr. Brown no need for all this drama. It is always a pity when arm chair racers come onto internet forums to exercise their internet mussels, as we all know from past experience they are wind bags with big mouths and little action to back it up. You and I on the other hand are men who work hard and long to follow a path which requires a significant commitment and dedication to realizing an objective. This is what distinquishes men like us who have accomplished something from the big mouthed know it all jerks like the guy who is posting in this thread trying to stir some controversey between us that does not exist.

I see no reason by the way for any grudge match betwen you and I as I have no grudge between us. However, if you do want to race me I would be willing to do so any time you are available. Perhaps we can apply to appear on the TV show "Pinks" and you can increase the stakes beyond a friendly wager to something with a bit more significance?

BTW - please do not flater yourself, I do not really see you as the principle threat in the Evo head's up class - no disrespect intended. My money is on David Buschur's new black drag car which should run you into the stone age or the ISP drag car which I hope will make it to the event and which has over 900 whp.

You are the one who brought up Mr. Brown when you mentioned that a slower car beat me in the final of the DSM shootout last year. Anyone who has a video from last year can see my car push through the staging beams and red light due to my failed clutch. Big deal, at least I was in the final which is more than I can say for you.

BTW - my time in my signature is my quickest time. I went 143 without nos so last time I checked I am still quickest and fastest without nos. Thanks
