I have a good reason. The big WRX vs Evo shootout is the next weekend and I'd like to see him kick *** at that event. The DSM race is great but there aren't the bragging rights there are at a Evo vs WRX shootout. If he breaks and can't fix it in time then it hurts the collective team Evo.

There are many many more big names and much more bragging rights at the DSM Shootout. The DSM shootout is HUGE... I would think any of the big name guys that drive Evos will be at the DSM Shootout. I would rather him run his best at the DSM Shootout against people like Curt Brown than a bunch of 11-14 second cars.

Do not worry about me breaking - I have been going all season thus far on the same drivetrain and engine without any thing breaking. I have an entire spare engine and drivetrain ready to go !

I will humilate the slowbarus the week after - even if I have to steal my wife's mini van to do it

Option B = Leaves nothing out of the equation... gives a real idea of the full cars power/potential.

I dont see any reason in running the car at non-full potential. For one, you get the reward of being the quickest Evo 8 in the world if you hit it. Two, you have full ball bragging rights if you can straight up beat some of the other full race cars (Yours is too but doesnt seem to be nearly as much as most). Option A just makes it more of a bracket type race where an 18 second car could kill a 9 second car. Doesnt make any sense to me for option A... just to be winner? I would rather lose a race and own the fastest car than win a race and just be another guy that could have a 15 second car. The idea of building your car that fast is to drive it that way Not to limit the power just so you can win a race. Otherwise why do half of it in the first place?
I concur with you 100% and that is why I am having these big dilemas about what to do

While I would like the chance to run the car without and exhuast and with nos and see what it can do - - I also am starting to grow tired of some of the stupid talk and the idea of not beating up on some of these guys in the boring full exhuast, full interior, no nos field is starting to grow more appealing by the hour

In order to be ready no matter which way the vote goes - I have re-installed the full interior and carpet tonight. This way its ready to go in either class. Who knows I may even find a hot babe evo crazy enough to **** in the evo

I'm a little discouraged that RNR isn't at any of these events with thier 735WHP evo. I know it's a long distance to travel (their in socal) but still- if you have a machine that worthy then show it!

I think Adam may be going from Devotuning.

I assume that heads up means there is no dial in like a normal bracket?

I really dont see a point in beating up little guys. Thats the only reason I go to Rock Falls Raceway now I own by far hands down the fastest import car that goes there damn near every single time I go. It is pretty boring now because the track isnt very good so it is kind of a waste of my time except to have a bunch of kids admire my crappy car

Run it full out. Even if you lose, you would still be one of the fastest, if not the fastest, Evo. Which would also mean for the other guys that want to see you beat up on WRXs... if they cant beat your time they cant beat it. Its that simple. You dont need to line up against one of them to prove your time

Too bad they wouldnt let the other car I am working on it that class... I would run against ya with it once I get it together and tuned and I would run against ya if I had even a hope and a dream to come anywhere close but considering I have only ran a crappy 11.55 and never actually got to run it at higher boost yet I dont think I will be hitting low 10s Not yet at least.

KFC drove to the 2000 SO from SoCal, raced, broke, fixed, and drove all the way back. There's no excuses for not attending.

Al, You have proven yourself enough. Doesn't matter what happens. I think you will do fine if you go all out. I am sure you are prepared. Many people go to these events to see the top guys give it their all.
Give them what they want...
As far as the Slowbaru's are concerned you could tow the evo down the track and still win.....

Hmmm- well if Al is having to hold back (not run NOS, full exhaust, funn interior, etc) then who else is going to have to "downgrade" their car in order to run in option A? AMS? TT?

I think everyone is assuming that all the other competitive EVO's will be running in the heads up class... But I know for a fact many aren't full interior and DO run NOS.

Not only do we need a roll-call but we need to know which cars are running in what class.
