Tint Ticket
what state are you in. i am suprised that he didnt just give you a fix it ticket and then all you would have to do is take it off show them and the go and get it re tinted. sounds stupid but there isnt to much more you can do about it
$150 Ticket < $240 for re-tinting
I was just wondering if some one had gone down this road before, if there was a way to get the ticket dropped

Wouldnt it be like a speeding ticket. Show up at the court and hope the cop doesnt then it gets thrown out? im surprised he didnt give you a $10 fix-it tho. Must have pissed him off. Did you shake him for a little while before you let him pull you over? Haha.
Do you still have the packaging and/or receipt from the tint job. If so, then take that to court to show the judge your proof that your tint is only 20%.
Those tint gadgets have to be used a certain way and if the officer didnt' follow the directions exactly as specified by the gadget company, then his reading will be off. If you still don't win, then I'd take it up with the tint company that they are falsely advertising a product on the market that resulted in your unknowingly breaking the law and a subsequent ticket. You can take them to court to then pay the ticket along with any higher insurance rates as a result.
Just a suggestion, Find out what gadget that department uses and find out the directions for it. If you have a friend in law enforcement, ask him/her to test your windows for you with their device while following the manufacturers directions and see if the readings come out the same. If they do, you have a problem with the tint, If they come out different, one of the two officers did something wrong.
Good luck...

Hehe, I thought about it, but sadly no. And acutually he was pretty cool to me. I just think its cause its the end of the month and all. I probably finished his quota and thats why he was so pleased. I'm going to try the whole thing with him showing up in court, but I don't know what to say to the judge if he hasn't.

Why don't you just put on legal tint?
