Whats a good price?

I have 3 autometer gauges i need installed, they are A/F, Boost, and EGT on the apillar. A shop nearby wants to charge $300 to install them, is that reasonable or to much? Thanks for any input, i dont think i even paid 300 to buy all of them.

well the things is, that installing the egt, requires to drill at hole into ur exhaust manifold. and to do a clean job the shop has to remove your manifold out. $300 is a quote i got too, but i shopped around and got mine done by a "professional" for under 300. keep looking and good luck.

your dont have to remove the manifold. just seperate the manifold and the turbo assembly, stick a aluminum plate in between. Do your drilling/tapping, install the fitting/probe, open a gap with a screwdriver between the manifold/ aluminum plate-turbo assembly and start your car. The exhaust gases will blast all the metal bits out. let it cool down and reassemble.

Do them yourself. I have all the how to's if you want them for those exact gauges. Hardly any tapping wires, used all add-a-fuses. I seriously am impressed with how well my gauge project turned out. 300 is a lot for a gauge install. You can get cams installed for that.

I did my egt with the manifold still on the car. I really think it's not that big of a deal as long as you are careful. Just keep letting the engine run until the hole is tapped.

ill take the how-tos, id much rather do it myself, i just though it would be like 150 to get them done, not 300.
