Yeah good luck with getting Mitsu to cover the clutch. You are better off at looking into aftermarket ones, and if you don't go with a twin disc or something they are fairly cheap.

If you're stock then try the dealership, you've got nothing to lose. If not I suggest you start looking into aftermarket clutches soon so you've got it when that stockers goes out completely.

If you have a 2003 past 12,000 miles I think you're SOL.

Having just bought my new 05, I asked the service manager how long I should expect to get out of my clutch. He said somewhere between 20000 and 50000 miles. 20000 miles maybe, but 50000

He said all the clutch parts except the disc are covered under warrenty. The disc is not as it is a wear item, like your rotors.

well the disk was covered for 12k miles but you never stated your mileage I'm assuming you're higher than that...and as for people doing it cheaper and faster the dealer takes "10 hours" because thats what theyr'e book says..they are pretty lacksadasial *spelling* and still usually finish it faster than that and charge you for 10 hours still. my friend works for toyota and has an 03 evo and does his own clutch and can finish it also in about 4 hours. **** I was chillin at his work one day and he finished a head gasket replacement in a little over 4 hours with an oil change when the books charge like 10 hours or something too...definitely if the dealer cant do it take advantage of someone in your area who is a pro at installation and order a good clutch to install that will last

the problem is they'll tell you that they'll have to do a tear down and inspect it first and if they call abuse, then you have to pay for it. if you dont want an oem clutch then they'll charge you for the disassembly labor. tough call. i say bite the bullet, take it to a tuner shop and slap on a good aftermarket clutch.

FYI.. the dealer put in the ACT and Prostreet Flywheel and only charged labor.. yes i wish i had my hookup number prior to doing this, but i was desperate and didnt have time to do it myself for that fact!! Some dealers are cool and will install aftermarket stuff TO A DEGREE of course. Didnt charge for any other misc. things.. just labor which was insane
