25 psi on stock turbo/internals ??

I was wondering if with a reflash and an MBC, could you run 25psi of boost on a stock turbo safely ? Has anyone done this? I know that on a 300zx TT for example, stock boost is 9.5 psi but with BPU you can run 14psi without any problems. So is this doable on an Evo?

Not without upgrading your fuel pump and possibly injectors.

What size injectors come stock?

Yeah I was thinking like, a good cat-back exhaust, intake, fuel pump, reflash, and an MBC set at 25psi... this sounds doable right?

You can 25psi without injectors. Fuel pump isn't necessary, but it's a good safety measure, and you need to be flashed for it also.

If you want to run 25psi safely on the stock turbo put some race fuel in first. That will help in suppressing knock.

Also, you'll only spike to 25psi and will drop off fairly quickly, since your out of the turbos "sweet spot" so-to-speak.

Good luck.

First off, I wouldnt run more than 19psi with those mods without a fuel pump. Secondly, to run 25psi on the stock turbo safely you need race gas 100+.

Stock injectors are 550cc.

You DEFINITELY don't want to run 25psi daily on pump gas. You will knock through the roof. You need either an alky kit or race gas to run that psi, and then it's best to have at least a fuel pump to make sure enough fuel gets supplied for that much boost. You will make more power with a full exhaust on 21psi than with a cat-back at 25psi...not only that, but the lower boost will be much safer, more reliable, and provide much smoother power, whereas the 25psi will be dangerous, cause knock, and cause a lot of retarded timing at higher rpms, which saps power significantly.

There's nothing special about a flash that makes it ok to run 25psi. I'm not sure why jeff said he runs 26psi daily on pump, when that includes an alky kit, which is basically not running on pump anymore...

I've got stock internals/turbo and run water injection (I put it together for all less than like $170 I believe from coolingmist.com) and run 24 psi all day in 98 degree weather. Run on 93 pump gas, no knock. {oh yea, I have 1 range cooler plugs too if that matters}

with alky injectors, and stock turbo with stock injectors, you couls run 25psi all day long as long as you're tune for it.
