Question Dyno Tuning??

Ok, I have a stupid question, or at least to me I feel I should already know this but still a newbe to the whole mod thing. Here's my question:

What's the difference between Dyno Tuning and getting a flash? Now that DB has the new dyno up and running I want to get a custom dyno tune done. If this is done, will I still need a reflash with the additional mods I'm having installed, or is this all done through the dyno custom tune? (CAMS/FMIC)

Also, is the dyno tune just hooking into your ECU and tuning? I don't have a stand alone or air/fuel manangement.

Thanks again for the feedback and support!

Dyno tuning just means you do your tuning on the dyno instead of on the street, track, or not at all. It still requires a tuning device of some sort; the dyno itself has no tuning capabilities.

A flash can be tuned on the dyno, on the street, or just sent as a basic mail-in flash that is pre-set according to your mods. If you go with a flash, you will always need to get reflashed after adding new mods (depending on the type of mod), whether it be mail-in or dyno tuned. To get a dyno tuned flash, you have to go to a vendor who does flashes and get tuned on their dyno or whatever dyno they use for tuning.

If you have your own tuning device (piggyback or standalone), then you do your own dyno tuning, or someone around you who is an expert can do it for you.
