Need Help: used acetone on paint and..

hello guyz..
One day I noticed LOTs of resins dropped on my lovely evo..(tarmac black)
I tried to remove them by sctratching it with fingernails, wipe it with soap, and etc. But it didn't work...
So I went on the internet and did some research on how to remove resin, and finally found a method. USE ACETONE

So I used acetone to remove resins on my car... and this is what happened.
The clear coat was gone and the car looks *$#%$#%#$%#$.
....

What should I DO!!!!!!
Please help me.

Wax the hell out of it with a high quality wax. If you are lucky it wont be too noticeable.

There was a similar thread earlier on removing boogers from the paint. My suggestion (in the future) would be to try the Mother’s Clay Bar with one of the instant detailers. I used to clay my white Mustang GT and the stuff was amazing. Don’t think I’d ever try acetone on paint.

What part of the car did you use the acetone on? Chances are you need to repaint the car to get it looking like new.......

you might not have used acetone or the acetone you used is contaminated with a lot of water. it is really polar, will dissolve almost all polymer and only a few fluorinated ones like PTFE, FEP, PFA will resist it

There are several clear coat polishes that may help, make sure you get the "clear coat" polish and not regular polish or you may make it worse. Clear coat polish has much less abrasives and might clean up a little of the damage without making it worse. Good luck.
