Aircraft carriers run on uranium or cesium (forget which) and tanks and all the other vehicles in the army for that matter run on JP-8 which comes from a different layer of the cracked fuel from refineries. Increased military activity does not result in fluctuating gasoline prices for us...but I see that even though you are in the military, you are ignorant to its inner workings...and so I'll carry that assumption further and assume you are not familiar with the inner workings of most other things either considering your chosen candidate.

It is lefties like Kerry that implement these draconian, confusing, conflicting regulations that keep refineries from being built and oil from being pulled out of American soil...

Anyway, any way you slice it we are still sending billions of dollars overseas to countries that hate us for their dirty fuel. Hope we can find an alternative soon.

14.345 Gallons? That seems odd. You've must ran out of gas and vaporized all the fuel in filler neck, lines, fuel filter, and every last drop in the engine. Seriously, I'd complain to that station to get their pumps checked.

Been at it 8 years bud, our flying hours have been totally cut this year due to lack of fuel and price. Also our truck and car fleet on base here is being park as we just ran out of money again today. Please when you have worked in the budget department then holla back. Also war is not just the trucks over seas, for every one plane we have well over 300 people and the gov truck and car that they drive allso use gas, its the logistics of the war. I find it hard to believe that in the big picture this does not effect us.

Pump very well could be accurate. If the tanks capacity is 14 gallons as claimed in the manual and its empty you could probably get 15 gallons in the tank by the time the filler neck is full. My truck has a 29 gallon tank and I often get 31 gallons into it. And quit crying about 40 bucks, takes 90-100 to fill the truck and it gets 11mpg lol.

I heard that the gov has the new water powered planes. they don't want to share the technology since it makes so much money in taxes of off gas.

Well, since the EVO has been out for over 2 years and he's the first to note he exceeded the 14 gallon limit, I'll go with the inaccurate pump argument. We could have everyone try to run out of gas and post up how many gallons it took to fill up. I never got more than 13 off vapors.

Dont have the manual on me right now but mine took 12.6 gallons about 3 miles after the light came on. Not sure how much is supposed to be left when it lights up but I'd guess 2 gallons from the other vehicles I've owned.

No. This is not true. Almost all aircraft carriers are nukes, but some like the Kittyhawk and Constellation are not. Some cruiser class ships used to be nukes, but they found that the hull could not take the constant pounding so all cruisers are gas powered again. The only other "ships" that are nuclear are submarines. Everything else is gas powered. You can tell if a ship is nuclear powered if the class designation ends with an N. e.g. The USS Nimitz is CVN 68 and the Kittyhawk is CV 63. Both are aircraft carriers, but one is nuke and the other is not.
