14 Gallons my @$$

Just got back from the gas station... Could have gone further.

Obviously the tank is a little bigger than 14 gallons.

14 is an approximation

they are not going to put "14.426793467 gal" in the manual

If you could have gone further why did you stop at $39.58 why didn't you just go to atleast $40?

That is not to say that where you are pumping your gas is exactly correct either. My guess is that most places charge you for more then you actually get. Yes I know that they are checked by the gov, but still doesn't mean that they are exactly correct. Try leaving a pump running and it will keep on racking on the $$ even though you are not pumping....

The most I have ever pumped is around 12.5 gallons and that is with the fuel light having been on for a while on level ground... I had 2 gallons left in my tank with needle below the E? I guess I did not know it was that big of a tank and never really looked it up. Good to know we have that much of a margin once the light comes on... I also wonder how accurate the pumps are though...

Yep - gas prices are outta hand. God forbid if you're modded and using a Walbro FP and/or your a/f's are on the rich side...

I just drove past Harris Ranch this afternoon in Coalinga (Central California), and the Chevron right off of I-5 has 91 octane at $3.13/gal. I think that the astronomical gas prices are going to hurt poor people the most. Middle-class folks like me feel the pinch, but they'll just make more room in their budget for it. Fewer trips to the movies and restaurants. Life goes on...

Same problem here damn near $40 to fill up. Whats going on here, and please no coments about you drive a car that uses alot of gas, cause my 97 integra is starting to get spendy too. Like others have said these gas prices have gotten out of hand. $2.50 for cheap and $2.70 for 93 here in NC. Can anyone say $3.00 a gallon by the end of the year!
