Invoice, and Im a happy man!
Invoice, and Im a happy man!
Well, I just got blown out of the water by my district manager. the dealship I work for is not supposed to get the first evo until mid april. Mine was supposed to come in May. My district manager just called to let me know that he pulled some strings, and I will get mine within two to three weeks. Its going to beat our original first car (blue by you).
So, I will be the proud owner of a rally red with large spoiler and sunroof shortly. For those of you wanting to know invoice (which shouldnt be any secret, and I hope Im not breaking any rules) Regardless, dealers will sell theirs for what they want to sell it for. Plus you all will see that there is not a big mark up on these bad boys. Im getting mine at invoice
$28861.00
Enjoy peeps, I will post pics as I can. Ofcourse by that time, you all will have seen plenty of pics.
Prepare to die ricers!!!!

Blame dealer markup on impatient buyers. When a car comes out with as much hype as the EVO, of course they're going to try and capitolize, wouldn't you if you could. Now those patient enough to wait until the hype dies down shouldn't have to pay the "over msrp" price dealer's are asking. I can remember when the civic SI came out in 1999 and Honda claimed they were only going to make about 2000 units, dealers were getting 2k over msrp on those (and these were civics, YUCK). Now count how many 1999-2001 civic SI's are on the road.

True, but you definitely have to consider the market for this car. In would be insane to compare the vehicles.
specifically states to the customer that this is car is costly to maintain. The are not diverting the customers, but making them aware. Not only that, but whats a civic si cost?? 19k, I dont know, I dont care for civics at all. Die hondas
Anyways, according to my rep, he says that they may increase production to a total of around 10,000 if the demand is high. Thats needles in a hay stack in comparison to the civic. Plus, the luxury of owning one is knowing that everyone else will not have one. I will be the first in Las Cruces NM. And probably the first here in the Southwest. Hee, hee

Awesome, thanks for the info
Now we can guess invoice + dealer holdback = pretty good profit not to mention whatever over MSRP. Talk about some greedy sales people.

Good looking out with that invoice price. Always helps to have that info when it comes time for negotiations.

Obviously you've never seen a car with a lot of margin. This car has CRAP for margin. Making $2000 to the dealer isn't a lot. If you think it is, try selling cars for a living once.

Anyways, i just figured invoice is like a grand for the lancer and the evo is two grand over invoice and it cost twice as much. If you guys got ripped off on this car on dealer holdback i don't know
very good point fireball, you have to understand, for the dealers, this is their life day in and day out, i admit i wouldnt pay 10k over, but you buy a car once every........... years, they have to live off this, and for a mitsu dealer that has been selling underpowered single over head cam models with no ether other than their commercials, you have to understand why they dont want to drop their pants now that they have something people like so much that websites like these exist
haha, anyway, it is what it is and since the dealer pays for the lights to be on, youll have to deal with it while the hype is up, dont hate, appreciate, and wait..... or steal one
haha have a good one all....
