My girlfriend challanged me today. If i could run 12s even 12.999 in the upcoming evo vs sti meet in englishtown, she will pay for my cams plus installed. That's total around $900. My following mods are boost controller set at 22-23psi, fuel pump, full 3" tbe, k&n cone filter, and custom tune by turbotrix. I am pushing out 303whp. Do you guys think i could hit high 12s? Or should i not take on her bet? I think i can do it...

better hav e a good clutch. make sure you let some air out your tires to ensure a good run. you'd be surprised how much better you will run w/ around 18-20 psi!.

 

with those mods you can, it all comes down to the driving

 

I hate to say this, but if you didn't do it with those mods, you're probably the worst driver on this forum... unless you've never drag raced or launched before, then I'd understand, as it does take a bit of practice to launch a car like the Evo if you're not used to it...

But I'd definitely take her up on it, because you're probably going to have to buy that crap for her eventually anyway

By the way, I'm an ok driver, and I ran 12.8 @ 107 when I had those same mods with a 1.75 60'...

 

Uhm, that's only if you're spinning. I have yet to spin my stock Advans even when running 12.2s. You don't just lower tire pressure for no reason...

Evo23, you should take the bet. 300whp is good for 12.4-12.5 for a good driver, so 12.9s should be pretty easy for you. My 282whp on 93oct was good for 12.64s last time at the track, and you have more power, so you're golden.
