Which Cams to go with?

Ok. Finally making the decision to upgrade Cams with a re-flash. What's the best setup? For my needs, I don't track the car, I just like to have the power on the street when I feel like getting a rush.

1. 264/264
2. 272/264
3. 272/272

Current Mods:
Greddy SP2 Profec B EBC (20psi)
Buschur Stage 2 Package (Exception - Highflow Cat/Greddy Catback)

Will I be pleased about the money I spent? (Want to feel a difference)

Thanks again for your help and support!

If you don't have a flash or tuning you would enjoy that more, and it would be way cheaper.

Also, I would at the very least get a K&N drop in filter.

264s for decent power and less lumpy idle

272s for good power and lumpy idle

280s for awsome power very lumpy idle

You can mix and match, and with tuning you can get good power without the lump, although some like the lump.

Just for reference though, this subject has been covered a thousand times, and a search would have helped you quite a bit.

Yeah Well said. However the size of the cam won't make neccessarily more power on the stock turbo over the 264s. If anything the 264s will make more torque on a stock turbo and vavletrain setup. The 280s are really for more top end but will make more power with proper tuning and higher boost levels. But for pump gas, street driving, and stock turbo i would stick with the 264s.

Thanks guys! It sounds like going either way (264/264 or 272/272) is a win win. Oh by the way, I didn't know you could do a search. (My Bad). Been chatting on here for about 6 months and never new it.

Thanks again for your help!

I road race alot and the 272I-264E works great to keep bottom end power and still pick up top end.The factory cams have the same split. Large on the intake and small on the exhaust.

GSC 264/264, HUGE power gain and stock-like idle.

I gained over 46WHP from them!

Wow TKE. I didn't realize you could gain that "much" power from installing new cams. I guess that 46whp was also inconjuction with a good tune or flash right?

Thanks,

Personally, I like the Works 269/269 cams. They seem to provide a nice linear increase in power everywhere within the band while maintaining OEM-like delivery.
