We are winning!!
We are winning!!
I have been closely following the EVO release and watching how the bottom feeding California dealers (auto) are doing with 10K and 15K markups. I know of 3 EVO's sold and 2 were at MSRP plus a max of $600 and 1 at 3K over.
Also, the dealerships that are offering MSRP or close to it should be patronized and we should help them grow their business when we can. Show them we appreciate their committment to customer satisfaction. Mark F. and concor???. and mitssalesguy dealerships are included in that list. If your local, support them and give'em referrals. Otherwise there is no incentive not to gouge.
I still believe there are more cars than enthusiast. Sit tight and you will get your car at the price you believe fair.

The point you are all missing is that some of the dealers want the cars to stay in the showroom for a while. In the scheme of a manufacturer or even a dealer the Evo is not much of a money maker, I would guess that it loses money for MMSA.
It is a halo car to bring people into the showrooms. It only works well if the car is there to be seen. When I was at Irvine the halo effect was working.

Uhh.. He is just as obligated to deliver the car to you in the same window of time as you are obligated to provide payment.. He can't do that unless he's working you a deal.. like say 'Ok.. sell me the car at Invoice since the car is now WORKING FOR HIM'

I can understand keeping one car in the showroom... it's gotta be the best attention grabber Mitsubishi's had in a long long time. A lot of Acura dealers do the same thing with the NSX, especially when it first came out. That thing was stickered at $60K and was selling for $70+! I believe Honda still takes a hit on the model, but they use it as a marketing tool to show off and sell other models.
