The only way I would want to chase the SMG would be if it came with all of the other stuff I listed.

In this order of importance:
Stroker motor
Beefier Trans and Clutch
Lighter Weight
LSD
Stiffer Chassis
Wagon Option

I also think an RS version would kick butt along with an ultra high end body kitted Ralli-Art edition.

Later,
Jay

One extreme version to blow subaru out of the water and one lower to keep cost down.

Why not an RS version with no radio, AC, no brembos to cut cost for those younger crowd who are willing to compromise. The whole purpose of the RS is special order only and compeditivly priced at 24K to blow wrx out of water

I really like that RS idea

Lighter weight, like 3100lbs max.
2.4 liter displacement, without reducing the red line.
Those big fog lights like the version V has.
Come with mud flaps from the factory.
Folding rear seat for long cargo.
Aluminum front strut tower brace standard.
Limited slip front diff (viscous coupling).
No rear spoiler.
Tires that last longer.
Clutch that lasts longer, maybe Kevlar.
Boost gauge standard.
Glove box light.
Floor board lights.
Factory alarm with siren (but keep the security key also).

Stuff NOT to include:
No 6 speed, the 5 speed is great.
No side air bags.
No AYC or ACD.

You know you can't fold the rear seats because a bar was purposly implaced to increase ridgity? If they start compromising performance for comfort and convience we might as well buy a STi

I just want to add the brake air duct standrad on the RS. Please no cheezy WRX antenna. Just put all the future evo antenna in the glass so we can place a XM antenna where the current antenna is.

I am sure with the new technology, they can beef up the EVO with keeping the 2.0L motor. We dont need to cheat like the STI. Maybe the titanum turbocharger, 6 speed tranny, more aluminum and CF body stuff for weight mgmt, etc. Put more ESSENTIAL gauges and class up the interior a little bit.

Just thought of something else to add. Put back on the Evo VII's tail lights and get ride of, or offer as an option, (since they are so easy to install) the altezza's.

I like how u said "we don't need to cheat like the STi" That's exactly what i thought when i heard that the STi is coming out w/ a bigger engine. Increasing the displacement is the american way : whoever has a bigger engine wins. And this is not really what the compact car world is all about, as far as i understand.
On the other hand, the bigger displacement compensates for the turbo lag
Also, EVOeight said that he would want the Evo to loose the rear spoiler and he'd want the tires to last longer. But if u take off the spoiler would disbalance the aerodynamics of the car, u would loose the downforce in tha back, which everyone is trying to increase to provide the car w/ a better grip. The long-lasting tires would have less grip. So those two things would only hurt the performance.
Well, both companies, Mitsu and Subaru, are trying to keep the costs down, because if they start adding on all of the expensive stuff the price is gonna increase dramatically and the sales would drop, just like the Mazda RX-7, which was an amazing performer, but sales were so low that they had to stop selling them in US.

I spoke to guys who have those kits, thats where im getting my info from,( most of them from england)
please keep the insults to yourself, this is the forum for evo enthusiasts. Im not 15 and dont have a f&f sticker on my car. Even if I didnt know sh.t you could be a little nicer
