Should I drop back to 91oct and save some $$

Is is worth saving 10c/gal and going back to 91 octane from 93??? With the price going up and up its starting to look attractive. I know in alot of states 91 is the most you can get. Any adverse affects of doing this? I have put 91 in it when driving out of the state before, but I have been hessitant to really get on it. Plus it was all interstate driving.

Thanks for the advice

no adverse effects, all the evos are made to use this gas, as they come into the state that uses this gas (california). so ALL evos are made to run this gas!

I can appreciate trying to use cheaper gas, but I think of it this way. If you eat fastfood one less time a week (Which is better for you anyways), it will save you the same amount of money.

Drop down and give me 20.....Im in Cali, and we dont even get 93, so take advantage and make ur tuned motor happy with better fuel. Higher octane = better performance and better mileage, so keep filling up with 93, its beter.

I you are modded and are tuned for 93 octane, use 93. On a stock evo using 91 wont matter.

Turn your boost way down and run 89. Then atleast you save $0.20 cents. Although liek the others whats the point unless you drive 1000 miles a week.

You have a 30k+ car. Ya spend the money on the car but don't want to spend an extra $ for petrol? Either buy good gas or sell your car and get a civic they will run on any cheap gas

That is NOT correct. If you read the owner's manual, it says that the EVO should run 93 octane. You can run 91 octane but you will lose some power. In CA we do not have 93 octane so we are doomed to run 91 on our EVOs. If there was 93 octane gas in CA, then I will use that gas for sure. Why do people get an EVO if they cannot afford the gas to run it!!!

hehe...good thinking...
But if I ran to the fastfood place, then wouldnt that be even better for me and save a whole lot in gas?
