Intakes....too many !!

First off ... YES I SEARCHED. I am looking for a good intake system. I have heard some intakes ( AEM ) make peoples BOV flutter and i have also heard that once you get a intake you need to get a reflash or your vehicle will run like s**t. I am just trying to get started up with my mods so all the confusion between likes, dislikes, and mis-information has got me a little confused. i am not cheep but am economical . I don't wanna have to buy $80 replacemnet filters every 30 days but do want a good product and am willing to pay the price . So if we have any serious tuners out there with some practical knowledge i would love some help.

The stock airbox on the car actually is pretty good so I would think about getting a tbe first. If you really wanted to go with an intake though I prefer the HKS RS. I have played with it and the k&n typhoon and I like hks better. As far as a tune goes you would probably want to get one, but I would go for something like a flash because you wont have to do it again if you get the tbe later, but you will if you get a fuel pump or another mod that effects certain aspects of the car. Just my .02

If you're just getting into modding cars, take this advice. Get the reflash from TurboTrix or Dynoflash or another good tuner for 200.00 and get 20-30hp to the wheels for 200 bucks.

For the simple bolt on guy, a drop in filter is all you need, an intake in most cases makes the car perform worse IMO.

Please spend your money on a better mod. The stock box and intake will yield you the same results. Leave it alone. We have proved it on the dyno MANY times
We sell block off plates for the stock units to incorporate a VTA BOV if you need one
Also I would recommend just doing a K&N or Greenfilter drop in only.

Agree^

Get a K&N drop in filter and get a reflash.

Open you hood and look at how Mitsu made their intake box it really is genius. If you've read you should know its good for up to 350+ whp.

How can a legitamate tuner actually even hint at VTA. If you proved that intakes don't work you would HAVE to know how bad VTA is on this car. Come on....

Ah here we go...
Are you telling me that my reputation is going to sway the majority of the individuals on this and every site to hear that "cool" sound. Come on...
People want VTA for many of there own reasons. SO we provide a service to them. Regardless of my own proffesional thought on the subject.

aftermarket intake = waste of money IMO helps with the whole sleeper look under the hood as well, unless you are going for bling

Making a car perform worse for a sound that they can get to some degree with an open air filter and a recirc though, I dunno to each their own, but if I were a tuner I would preach what I practice on my own car.

I undertsand your point, But if the demand is there then we will proved the product so long as the customer understands the downfalls.

you do intake mod if you love to hear the turbo sound. it doesn't give you any noticable power. Once you like to hear your turbo and bov, you won't go back to you stock box. If you don't like additional noise. don't go for it.

I got ya, of course if the demand is there, the ability to make money is there, and it's a bussiness afterall. I can understand what you're saying.
