Recall C0504H

Was at the dealer picking up some touchup paint today and found out that there is a recall out that was just released regarding the Turbo Coolant Hose. Just wanted to make sure that people knew about it if you didn't already.

Unlrelated I was amazed that the Rally Red touchup paint P23 comes in a pen labled Pheonix Red and appears to be much darker then the actual color. However upon testing it seemed to be ok.

Yep, the Apex Silver pen was called something funny too, and then matched more perfectly than I could've imagined.

I know the recall is at least for 05 models since mine is an 05 and the recall came up on their system for my vehicle. I am not sure if previous models are affected.

My touchup pen was 12.60

Ok so I got the recall taken care of and the car sounds different now.

When accelerating when I shift from 1->2->3 etc I hear more of a wooosh da da da. Im just curious as to why this sound is soo noticable now after the recall and prior to the fix I was not able to hear it. Any thoughts people?

thats b/c its the paint from the Lancer... it should match even with the different name, some color vary a bit... but the paints should be so similar it would be un-noticeable...

I just picked up my 2005 a month ago...how do I find out if this recall involves my car? Just go to the dealership? Or is there somewhere I can find my build date?

Look for a lose hose at the BOV maybe, or something with the intake. The service on the recall should not cause that sound. I never trust anyone else working on my car, they must have forgot to connect something.

In regards to the touchup paint: havent tried yet

I am really leaning toward something is either loose, or the replacement part is causing this, but seeing how it is a coolant hose I doubt it.

Per the recall document that i downloaded the required operations are
-remove rad cap to release sys pressure then reinstall
-remove air intake duct and air cleaner assy
-remove air flow sensor connector and clamp
-remove intercooler hose
-remove air intake hose
-replace turbo water feed hose
-reinstall parts
-bleed air from system
-replenish coolant
-mark that it has been done
-confirm all bolts etc are secure
-confirm coolant level
-start car make sure you dont hear anything

Perhaps when they reinstalled the intake it isnt sealed correctly making the sound more audible...I am sure that something is goofy though.
