Thumbs up Get a flash!!

OK

I see a lot of people posting with questions about ECU flashes. Heck I was one of them a few months ago when I got my Injen intake. The answer is yes you need one. If for no other reason than gas mileage get a flash. When I installed my intake I felt like I lost a bit of power and my gas mileage was terrible. I got my ECU flahsed, installed a full 3" exhaust and now I have a lot more power (a lot meaning this car is fast) and I am getting about 80 miles more per tank of gas. The flash will pay for itself in a few months. So get a boost gauge and get an ecu flash. Those mods combined with a turbo back exhaust, fuel pump, and boost controller are an incredible combination. There are not many cars that you can spend $2,000.00 (or less) on and get 70 hp.

I hope this helps a newbie like me that was/is wondering if they really need to get the ECU flashed.

$2000 dollars gets you a bit further than 70 hp. Glad to hear that your flash went well and that the car is performing like it should.

Yeah , I agree. look at this:

$399 for a LPI 3" cat-back from Logic Performance
CAI for less than $99 or drop on for about $40
$99 mail in flash
$139 Downpipe from Logic performance
$90 fuel pump
$50 boost controller
$199 headers from gruppe -s

So for less than have of what you mentioned we can get much more power compared to your $2000..

i think i read here somewhere that the dealer do detect if the 05 had been flashed or not, hence, voided warranty...is this true? coz i really want a flash but am worried about this issue....
