No, we cant import cars from Japan either....we have customs and our cops are very strict on our import scene. We have a law called Reconstruction....if the car has rims, drop, tint, exhaust, or any type of modification done to it....it has to pass a reconstruction test. The worse part about this test, its completely up to the inspector to pass you....nothing is really written out to spec. So our state employees (however a bad day they are having) can have their little power trip on you and fail you, if they feel like it.

The other islands aren't affected by it.
Plus... Reconstruction is only for when you modify a vehicle from it's original specs. If you import a Skyline from Japan directly from a dealer, it's never been modified so no need for a Recon sticker.
But, you do have to have it cleared by the Dept. of Transportation in order for it to be legally registered. I believe that requires three prior models of the vehicle to be crash tested. After that, anyone can import that specific model without hassle.

Saw a news report that they have them here in Tulsa last Friday. This weekend I stopped in and looked at a black one in Oklahoma City.

Evoless in MD, VA, and DC.. Dealer still says march 21st.. I'm hoping for friday... but then again, I havent heard of any more arriving closer to us in the last few days.. Maybe all the trucks that delivered the evos as far as halfway here had to go back to pick up the other half of them slated for the east coast.. They shoulda just thrown them on a train.
the lancaster pa dealer says that they will be coming from balitmore where they arrive by boat. I could see that trip all the way through the panama canal taking 2-3 weeks longer than the west coast folks.
hopefully soon.
